ethan’s self talks

To love is to be human

What about nonchalance is so enticing to some? The act of pretending to not care? Isn’t it human experience to love and feel?

To me, it seems these people are giving up their agency and their capacity to be human. Holding yourself back from so many human experiences all for the reason of “protecting yourself”. You are a small speck in a universe that has lasted billions of years. And the only reason you are alive is because generations of people have loved before you. Ironic isn’t it? The very feeling that made you so is the same feeling you hold yourself back from. Text that person, reach out, show your appreciation. If they don’t like it then okay! You’ll live through the experience the same as many billions of other humans have. You’ll learn and feel as the people before you have. And the people before you had the same fears I’m sure, but their choices, heartbreaks, and experiences lead up to you.

Reach out and love someone. Don’t be so scared of it. It wouldn’t mean as much as it does if it was forever. Forever is not why we do things, but the feelings and experiences that come with it. So let yourself go and be human.
