Lust
Everyday, there comes this urge to self-indulge in the desires of another’s body and flesh. In my youth, I’ve submitted to this concept that bodily pleasures can remain and stay exclusive to that. But I realize how flawed this is and how it leaks into every facet of life.
Lust is born out of desire, accepted and lived for by hedonistic minds. But not controlling this desire, how does this desire not gradually drip down covering everything else intimate? There is a holiness to intimacy, a closeness where you can feel the warmth of another soul. As humans, to connect is what makes us whole. But to mistake this… self serving and mindless urge for a spiritual intimacy will ruin who you deem to be close. It will wreak havoc on anything intimate by nature. And anything intimate must be protected as there’s nothing more divine than the ethereal warmth of another human.
Just how does one expect see and love another if their view of the mind and soul is blocked by flesh? You are blinded, blocked off, and the only one to blame is oneself for moving yourself to be blocked by such vain conduits like body and flesh. There is a beauty to the human body, yes. To deny that is to deny all that is natural. But the beauty does not dictate the mind or soul. Therefore you should not allow this beauty block your ability to see another.
Because to be truly seen is to be truly loved.
